Peter Adams - Chief Executive Officer

Peter Adams (1976, Belgium) has extensive experience in both the Belgian and international financial sector. Before joining ING in Belgium, he served as managing director and senior partner at Boston Consulting Group, leading BCG’s European People and Organisation Practice. Before that, Peter was the managing partner for BCG in Belgium and Luxembourg. Since joining BCG in 1999, Peter has been involved in some of the largest transformations in the European banking industry, in particular in the Nordics, UK, France and Benelux, advising retail and commercial banks and insurers on a broad range of strategy, operations, and transformation issues. As of the 2nd January 2021, Peter Adams acts as CEO for ING in Belgium.

Ellen Aelvoet - Head of Wholesale Banking

Ellen Aelvoet (1974, Belgium) started her career at ING in Belgium (formerly BBL) as a management trainee in 1997 with a first role in Risk Management. Between 2008 and 2016, she held several senior management positions such as Head of Domestic Sales within Financial Markets, or as Head of Public Sector & Social Profit defining and implementing its commercial strategy. From 2016 to 2020, she was in charge of the commercial activities of the Mid Corporates and Institutionals for the region of Antwerp-Limburg-Leuven. On the 1st of January 2020, Ellen Aelvoet joined the Executive Committee as Head of Wholesale Banking for ING in Belgium.

Education

Ellen Aelvoet holds a Master’s degree Economics from the University of Namur (FUNDP) and studied both in Belgium and abroad.

Hans De Munck - Chief Financial Officer

Hans De Munck (1973, Belgium) started his career at ING in Belgium (formerly BBL) in 1996 as an analyst in Market Risk Management. He has a wealth of risk management experience, balance sheet management and treasury, both at ING in Belgium and at ING Group. In 2018, Hans De Munck was appointed as Chief Financial Officer of ING in Belgium. Between October and January 2020, he also acted as CEO ad interim.

Education

Hans De Munck is a business engineer and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Peter Göbel - Head of Business Banking

Peter Göbel (1963, The Netherlands) has over 30 years of experience in corporate banking, investment banking and private banking. Peter started his banking career at ABN AMRO Bank in 1988. In 2001 he moved to Achmea Bank where he became an Executive Committee member with responsibility for the operations of Staal Bankiers and Achmea Real Estate. In 2004 Peter joined NIB Capital Bank where he became Managing Director Real Estate and responsible for the business unit Corporate Finance Real Estate. In 2007, he joined ING where he ssuccessfully managed Real Estate Finance (REF) in the Netherlands and Poland and was a part of the Global REF Management Team. In September 2020 he was appointed Head of Client Advice SME & MidCorp in Belgium, and as on 1st June 2021 he became Head of Business Banking Sales. On 1st April 2022, Peter Göbel joined the Executive Committee as Head of Business Banking of ING in Belgium.

Peter Göbel holds a degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam.

Sandra Simundza - Chief Risk Officer

Sandra Simundza (Croatia, 1969) brings over 25 years of experience in risk management to ING. She began her career in 1998 at UniCredit Group (Zagrebacka banka) and has since acquired experience at Hypo Alpe Adria International, Sberbank Europe and Western Union International Bank where she was managing director and Chief Risk Officer for over 8 years. Sandra is a financial professional with a proven impact on company performance through the design, development and deployment of risk management strategies and programmes, as well as financial budgeting, internal controls, compliance, data privacy and reporting for the banking industry. Sandra Simundza joined the Executive Committee in May 2023 as Chief Risk Officer for ING in Belgium.

Education

Sandra holds a Master’s degree in Macroeconomics from the University of Zagreb and a MSc in International Business from the University of Rijeka.

Sali Salieski, Head of Retail & Private Banking ING Belgium

Member of the Executive Committee and the Board

Sali has 20 years of progressive executive experience in banking and financial institutions internationally. He is currently responsible for the Retail and Private Banking business of ING in Belgium. Before joining ING Belgium in 2020, Sali was global divisional CFO for Tech, Ops & Transformation, and before that a country
CFO for ING in the Czech Republic. Prior to his leadership executive roles, Sali
worked more than 10 years in Corporate Finance for international FI clients at
ING Wholesale Banking and as a Managing Director in ING Group Acquisitions and
Divestments.

Education

Sali obtained his Masters in International Finance from the University of Amsterdam and an executive MBA (equivalent) from Harvard Business School.

Bahadir Samli - Chief Information Officer

Bahadır Şamlı (1970, Turkey) started his career at ING in 2012 as Head of Core Banking Application Development and in January 2015 became CIO in Turkey. Prior to his current role, he worked for banks and integration companies and led several transformation projects in Turkey and abroad. Being focused on people development, impact and high-performing culture, he managed to lead a successful digital transformation in Turkey. As of the 15th of April 2021, Bahadir acts as CIO for ING in Belgium.

Cedric Lebegge - Chief Operations Officer

Cédric Lebegge (1976, Belgium) started his career at Bain & Company, a global strategy consulting firm, in 1998. He was a Partner at Bain, in the Financial Services practice, and worked intensively on transformation, strategy, IT & operations and M&A programs. He managed assignments in Western & Central Europe as well as North & South America. Between 2013 and 2021, Cédric held several senior positions at KBL European Private Bankers (renamed Quintet Private Bank in 2020) with a focus on IT and Operations. In 2018, he joined the Executive Committee of InsingerGilissen Bankiers, the subsidiary of Quintet in the Netherlands, as Chief Operating Officer. In 2021, Cédric was appointed COO Affluent & Group Head of Digital of Quintet Private Bank and was a member of Quintet Europe’s Management Committee.
Since the 1st of September 2021, Cédric acts as COO for ING in Belgium.
